Description
ThermTec HUNT 650 Thermal Clip-On
The ThermTec HUNT 650 is a compact thermal clip-on designed for use with compatible daytime optics. It combines a 640×512 thermal sensor with a 50mm objective lens, providing thermal viewing in a lightweight attachment format.
For users who already own suitable daytime optics, the HUNT 650 offers an alternative to purchasing a separate dedicated thermal scope. Compatibility and the correct adapter should be confirmed before purchase.
Detailed thermal imaging
The detector features a 12μm pixel pitch and NETD sensitivity of ≤20mK. This helps reveal small temperature differences between subjects and their surroundings, supporting observation when visible light is limited or absent.
The 50mm lens provides a manufacturer-rated detection range of up to 2,600 metres. Actual performance depends on conditions and subject size, and detection distance should not be confused with identification distance.
Compact and lightweight construction
Weighing approximately 400g, the HUNT 650 keeps added weight modest. Its magnesium alloy housing combines a compact shape with a robust outer structure for regular outdoor use.
The device measures approximately 129×70×77mm, making it convenient to carry when it is not attached to an optic. This compact format is useful for users who value portability.
AMOLED display
A 0.39-inch AMOLED display with 1024×768 resolution presents the thermal image. Selectable colour palettes provide different ways to interpret temperature differences across the scene.
The ThermTec HUNT 650 also includes image correction technology to help maintain image consistency as conditions change. Its controls use quiet-touch buttons for discreet operation.
Recording and wireless connectivity
Built-in photo and video functions allow you to retain a record of your observations. Internal storage provides space for saved footage without relying on a separate memory card.
Wi-Fi supports connection to the ThermTec app, giving you another way to access the device’s digital features. Wireless remote-control support adds convenience when using the clip-on with compatible equipment.
Recording is useful when you want to revisit an encounter, compare activity across different outings or share observations afterwards.
Rechargeable power for longer outings
The built-in rechargeable battery offers up to six hours of operation according to the manufacturer. Actual runtime varies with temperature, recording and wireless feature use.
USB-C supports charging and data transfer, providing a straightforward connection for routine use. IP67-rated protection helps the device withstand exposure to dust and wet outdoor conditions.
