Description
Pulsar Krypton XG50 Thermal Imaging Front Attachment & Monocular
The Pulsar Krypton XG50 is a high-resolution thermal imaging front attachment and thermal monocular featuring a 640×480, 12µm thermal sensor and powerful 50mm F1.2 germanium objective lens.
Designed to add thermal imaging capability to compatible daytime optics, the Krypton XG50 provides a versatile alternative to using a dedicated thermal scope. With the appropriate adapter, the thermal module can be fitted to the objective of a compatible daytime optic, allowing you to retain your familiar optical setup while adding high-quality thermal imaging capability.
The Krypton XG50 can also be used as a handheld thermal imaging monocular, making it a flexible thermal device for observation, scanning, pest control and other appropriate field applications.
High-Resolution 640×480 Thermal Sensor
At the heart of the Pulsar Krypton XG50 is a high-resolution 640×480 thermal sensor with a 12µm pixel pitch.
The combination of high sensor resolution and the 50mm F1.2 objective lens provides detailed thermal images and excellent detection performance, making the Krypton XG50 particularly suitable for users who require greater image detail at longer observation distances.
With a 50Hz frame rate, the device provides smooth thermal imaging when scanning or following moving heat sources.
Thermal Front Attachment for Daytime Optics
The Krypton XG50 thermal module can be mounted in front of compatible daytime optics using the appropriate Pulsar adapter.
This allows a conventional daytime optic to be converted into a thermal imaging system without replacing the existing optic.
Pulsar recommends daytime optic magnification of approximately 1.5x to 6x with the Krypton XG50.
The front-mounted configuration makes the Krypton particularly attractive to users who want the flexibility of using their conventional optics during the day while adding thermal capability when required.
Please check optic and adapter compatibility before ordering. The appropriate mounting adapter may be required separately.
Thermal Monocular Capability
The Krypton XG50 isn’t limited to front-attachment use.
When configured with the appropriate Pulsar monocular eyepiece, it can also be used as a powerful handheld thermal monocular, providing a practical solution for scanning fields, woodland edges and other countryside environments.
This dual-purpose design means one thermal imaging device can provide both observation and front-attachment functionality.
Long 2300m Detection Range
The combination of the sensitive 640×480 thermal sensor and F50/1.2 objective lens provides a manufacturer-stated detection range of up to 2300 metres for a 1.7m-high object.
This makes the Krypton XG50 particularly capable for observation across larger fields and open countryside.
Detection range should not be confused with identification distance; environmental conditions, target size and other factors will affect real-world performance.
Built-In Photo & Video Recording
The Pulsar Krypton XG50 features built-in photo and video recording, allowing thermal images and footage to be captured directly through the device.
With 16GB of internal memory, observations can be recorded for later viewing without requiring a separate recording device.
Wi-Fi & Stream Vision Connectivity
Built-in Wi-Fi connectivity allows the Krypton XG50 to connect to a compatible smartphone or tablet using Pulsar’s Stream Vision platform.
This provides additional functionality for viewing thermal images, accessing recorded media and supported device functions.
IPS7 Rechargeable Battery
Power is provided by Pulsar’s removable IPS7 6400mAh Li-ion battery pack, providing up to approximately 8 hours of operating time under the manufacturer’s stated conditions.
The quick-change battery design also allows a spare compatible battery to be carried for extended periods in the field.
An external 5V USB power source can also be used.
Built for Field Use
The Krypton XG50 has an IPX7 waterproof rating and is designed to operate across temperatures from approximately -25°C to +50°C, making it suitable for demanding outdoor conditions.
