Description

Pulsar Telos XP50 Thermal Imaging Monocular

The Pulsar Telos XP50 is a premium 640 thermal imaging monocular designed to deliver exceptional image quality and thermal sensitivity in demanding field conditions.

Combining a highly sensitive 640×480 17µm thermal sensor with a fast 50mm F1.0 germanium objective lens, the Telos XP50 excels at detecting subtle temperature differences, helping produce a detailed thermal image even in difficult conditions such as high humidity, mist and other situations where thermal contrast is reduced.

With 2.5–10x magnification, a wide 12.4° field of view and a manufacturer-stated detection range of up to 1800 metres, the XP50 provides an excellent balance between wide-area scanning and longer-distance observation.

It is an excellent premium thermal monocular for wildlife observation, gamekeeping, pest control, land management and professional field use.

Highly Sensitive 640×480 Thermal Sensor

At the heart of the Pulsar Telos XP50 is a high-resolution 640×480 thermal sensor with a 17µm pixel pitch.

More importantly, the sensor offers an excellent NETD of less than 18mK, while the complete system provides a stated system NETD of less than 15mK.

NETD is a measure of a thermal imager’s ability to distinguish very small temperature differences.

Lower NETD figures can help reveal greater detail when there is relatively little temperature difference between the object being observed and its surroundings.

This makes the Telos XP50 particularly capable in challenging thermal conditions where less sensitive thermal imagers may struggle to reveal finer detail.

Fast 50mm F1.0 Germanium Lens

The high-sensitivity sensor is combined with a powerful 50mm F1.0 germanium objective lens.

The fast F1.0 aperture provides excellent infrared transmission, helping the thermal sensor capture the available thermal radiation efficiently.

Together, the 640×480 sensor and F50/1.0 lens provide a highly detailed thermal image for both general scanning and longer-distance observation.

Wide Field of View

Despite its 50mm objective lens, the Telos XP50 provides a generous 12.4° horizontal field of view, equivalent to approximately 21.8 metres at 100 metres.

A wide field of view is particularly useful with a handheld thermal monocular because it allows larger areas to be scanned quickly.

This makes the XP50 equally at home scanning fields, woodland edges and hedgerows or examining an individual heat source in greater detail.

Up to 1800m Detection Range

The Pulsar Telos XP50 provides a manufacturer-stated detection range of up to 1800 metres for a standard 1.8m-high object.

This provides excellent long-range detection capability while retaining the relatively wide field of view required from a high-performance thermal spotter.

Actual detection and identification distances will depend on target size, weather, atmospheric conditions, terrain and surrounding environment.

2.5–10x Magnification

The Telos XP50 provides 2.5x base magnification with smooth digital zoom extending magnification up to 10x.

The relatively low base magnification works particularly well when scanning large areas, while the digital zoom allows a detected heat source to be examined more closely when required.

HD AMOLED Display

The detailed thermal image is presented through a high-quality 1024×768 AMOLED display.

The high-resolution display complements the 640×480 thermal sensor and provides a clear viewing experience when scanning and observing for extended periods.

Built-In Photo & Video Recording

The Telos XP50 includes a built-in photo and video recorder with a generous 64GB internal memory.

Thermal photographs and videos can therefore be captured directly through the monocular without requiring a separate recording device.

Video and photographs are recorded at up to 1024×768 resolution.

Wi-Fi & Stream Vision 2

Built-in Wi-Fi supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless connections and allows the Telos XP50 to communicate with compatible smartphones and tablets.

The device supports Pulsar’s Stream Vision 2 application, providing access to compatible connectivity, media and device functions.

LPS 7i Rechargeable Battery

The Telos XP50 uses Pulsar’s LPS 7i 6400mAh rechargeable Li-ion battery pack.

Pulsar states an operating time of up to approximately 8.5 hours at 22°C, providing plenty of capacity for extended periods in the field.

The battery can be charged through USB-C and also supports wireless charging.

Designed for Demanding Outdoor Use

The Pulsar Telos platform has been designed around regular field use.

Its rubber-armoured reinforced body provides a secure grip and protection against everyday knocks and demanding outdoor conditions.

The XP50 carries an IPX7 waterproof rating, providing protection against heavy rain and temporary immersion in water.

It is designed to operate in temperatures from approximately -25°C to +40°C.

Ideal for Wildlife, Gamekeeping & Pest Control

The combination of excellent thermal sensitivity, a 640-resolution sensor and wide field of view makes the Telos XP50 particularly effective as a handheld thermal spotter.

Typical applications include:

  • Wildlife observation
  • Gamekeeping
  • Pest control
  • Land and estate management
  • Field and woodland scanning
  • Night-time observation
  • Locating animals and other heat signatures
  • Professional thermal observation

For pest-control applications, the XP50 provides a high-performance handheld thermal spotter for scanning and locating heat sources before using other appropriate equipment.
