The Fenn Trap Mk4 is a heavy-duty, British-made spring trap widely used by gamekeepers, farmers, and pest controllers. It features a powerful treadle-trigger mechanism designed to achieve a swift, lethal head kill.

The springs on the Fenn Mk4 are incredibly strong and capable of breaking human bones in your hand or fingers if mishandled. It is generally not recommended for domestic or amateur use.

Always engage the built-in safety catch when setting or moving the trap, and only disengage it (using a tool or stick) once the trap is safely positioned deep inside its tunnel.

UK Legal Restrictions & Target Species In the UK, strict regulations apply under the Spring Traps Approval Order

The Mk4 is legally approved for targeting grey squirrels, rats, mice, and weasels.

Stoat Ban: Following changes to the Agreement on International Humane Trapping Standards (AIHTS), it is now illegal to use a Fenn Mk4 to catch stoats (DOC traps must be used instead).

Mandatory Tunnels: By law, you must set the trap inside a natural or artificial tunnel (such as a purpose-built Vermin Trap Box or mesh cage).
Setting a spring trap in the open is a criminal offence, as the tunnel protects non-target wildlife and pets.
