Pulsars premium scope available from Ellmor Limited

Thermal imaging and image adjustment

The Thermion 3 LRF XT60 uses an uncooled thermal sensor with a specified sensor NETD below 35 mK and system NETD below 20 mK. These separate figures describe sensitivity at sensor and complete-system level. A 50 Hz frame rate supports observation of movement, while the specified field of view spans 25.7 m at 100 m.

Three sensitivity amplification levels allow adjustment for different observation conditions. A selectable smoothing filter reduces image noise, including when using higher amplification. Nine colour palettes provide alternative presentations of the thermal scene, allowing the image to be configured around the subject and surrounding background.

Viewing controls and display

A 2560 × 2560 Micro-OLED AMOLED display presents the thermal image and interface. Eyepiece adjustment extends from −4.5 to +3.5 dioptres, with 65 mm eye relief. Rectangular and round picture-in-picture modes provide alternative ways to inspect a magnified area while retaining a wider view.

Magnification is adjusted through a physical zoom ring, reducing reliance on menu navigation during observation. The direction of zoom-ring operation can be selected to suit the user. Central focusing is accessible with either hand. Main controls are positioned on the eyepiece, and a proximity sensor switches the display off when the user moves away from it.

Range measurement and ballistic functions

The laser rangefinder supports single measurements, continuous scanning and true horizontal distance measurement. Its specified maximum measuring range is 1200 m, with ±1 m accuracy. Integration within the housing keeps the ranging assembly separate from the thermal objective.

An integrated ballistic calculator supports profile-based drop and drift corrections, with a Suggested Point of Aim displayed on the reticle. Stream Vision Ballistics transfers ballistic profiles to the riflescope. Ten zeroing profiles each accommodate up to ten distances, providing organised storage for different configurations. One-shot, zoom and freeze zeroing methods are available. Scalable electronic reticles maintain their subtensions as magnification changes, while elevation and side-incline indications provide orientation information.

Power, mounting and recording

The metal housing mounts using standard 30 mm rings and carries an IP67 protection rating. The specified operating temperature range is −25°C to +50°C, and the maximum stated recoil energy on rifled weapons is 6000 J.

Power comes from removable and built-in APS5 batteries, each rated at 4900 mAh. Specified operating time is 8.5 hours at 22°C. USB-C Power Delivery provides an external power option.

Internal storage holds photographs and video with sound for later review. Dual-band Wi-Fi supports Stream Vision 2 functions, including streaming, remote control, file handling and firmware updates. Bluetooth connectivity is also specified.
