Nikwax TX.Direct Wash-In 300ml – Waterproof Clothing Treatment

Nikwax TX.Direct Wash-In is a high-performance wash-in waterproofing treatment specifically developed for breathable waterproof clothing.

Over time, regular use, dirt and wear can cause the Durable Water Repellent finish on waterproof jackets and trousers to deteriorate. Instead of water beading on the surface, the outer fabric can begin absorbing moisture or “wetting out”.

Nikwax TX.Direct restores Durable Water Repellency (DWR) while maintaining the breathability of technical waterproof fabrics, helping your clothing perform effectively in wet weather.

Restores Water Repellency

TX.Direct adds a durable water-repellent treatment to the fibres of your waterproof garment, helping rain bead on the surface rather than soaking into the outer fabric.

This reduces water absorption and helps keep waterproof clothing lighter and more comfortable in prolonged wet conditions.

Revitalises Breathability

Maintaining water repellency is particularly important for breathable waterproof clothing.

Nikwax states that when the outer fabric becomes saturated, a waterproof garment can lose up to 70% of its breathability. TX.Direct helps prevent the outer fabric from absorbing water while still allowing moisture vapour to escape.

This helps reduce the clammy feeling that can occur when the outer material of waterproof clothing becomes saturated.

Ideal for Shooting & Country Clothing

Waterproof clothing used for shooting, gamekeeping, farming and countryside work is regularly exposed to rain, mud and demanding outdoor conditions.

TX.Direct is particularly useful for restoring the water-repellent performance of technical shooting jackets and waterproof trousers without compromising their breathability.

Easy Wash-In Application

Nikwax TX.Direct can be applied conveniently in a washing machine.

For best results, clean the garment first with Nikwax Tech Wash in a separate wash cycle and do not dry it before applying TX.Direct. Nikwax advises against using conventional laundry detergent.

For machine application:

• Shake the bottle before use
• Place a maximum of 2 clean garments in the washing machine
• Use 100ml per garment
• Wash on a 30°C synthetic cycle
• Use a slow spin
• Air dry, or tumble dry on low if permitted by the garment’s care label

No Heat Activation Required

Unlike some waterproofing treatments, TX.Direct does not require tumble drying to develop its DWR treatment.

The water-repellent finish develops during air drying, although garments can be tumble dried on a low setting when permitted by their care instructions.

Use After Nikwax Tech Wash

For the best performance, Nikwax recommends first cleaning waterproof clothing with Nikwax Tech Wash.

If cleaning alone restores water beading, reproofing may not yet be necessary. When the garment has been thoroughly worn and cleaning no longer restores its DWR, follow with Nikwax TX.Direct Wash-In to renew its water-repellent treatment.
