Hotline Condor HM500 Mains Electric Fence Energiser
The Hotline Condor HM500 provides mains-powered electric fencing for agricultural, livestock and poultry installations. With 5.0 joules of stored energy and a maximum output of 3.9 joules, it is an option for larger fencing systems where mains electricity is available.
Its wall-mounted design, separate power outputs and monitoring features make it a practical choice for permanent installations.
Mains power with battery backup capability
The Condor operates from a 230V mains supply and includes an input for an external 12V backup battery. This provides an alternative power source when a suitable battery is connected.
A battery backup monitor complements the unit’s fence monitoring display. Check the manufacturer’s instructions when planning your power supply and backup arrangement.
High and low power outputs
Separate output terminals provide a choice between maximum and reduced output. The full-power output delivers up to 3.9J, while the lower-power output provides 0.7J.
Hotline lists maximum fence distances of 40km at full power and 8km at reduced power. These are comparison figures rather than guaranteed working distances for every installation.
LED fence performance monitor
The built-in LED monitor gives a visible indication of fence performance. It helps you recognise when the system needs attention alongside your normal inspections and fence testing.
Regular checks remain important, particularly after storms, vegetation growth or changes to the fence layout.
Electric netting capacity
Hotline’s stated full-power capacities are up to 25 lengths of 50m sheep netting or 15 lengths of 50m poultry netting. These are alternative ratings for the respective netting types, not a combined allowance.
Actual capacity depends on fence condition, vegetation contact, earthing and the installation. Choose the energiser around your complete fencing system rather than distance alone.
