Description
HIKMICRO SP5000 Solar Panel for Trail Cameras
The HIKMICRO SP5000 Solar Panel uses sunlight to support compatible trail cameras, helping reduce reliance on disposable batteries. Its built-in rechargeable battery stores energy for use when sunlight is limited.
It offers a practical power option for wildlife monitoring, especially where regular visits to replace batteries are inconvenient.
Solar charging and battery storage
The SP5000 combines a 5W solar panel with a 5,000mAh, 7.4V lithium-ion battery. Stored energy allows it to provide power beyond periods of direct sunlight.
Available runtime depends on sunlight, panel position, temperature and the camera’s power consumption. Frequent recordings and cellular uploads can increase demand, so the panel should not be treated as a guarantee of continuous operation.
6V and 12V outputs
The HIKMICRO SP5000 Solar Panel provides DC outputs rated at 12V/1A and 6V/1.5A. It also has a 5V/2A charging input.
HIKMICRO specifies compatibility with the M15 trail camera. Before connecting another model, confirm its voltage, connector and power requirements. The presence of a 6V or 12V output alone does not establish compatibility with every trail camera.
Outdoor construction
An IP66 protection rating provides resistance to dust and powerful water jets. The panel measures 185 × 170 × 27mm and weighs 450g.
The included mounting bracket offers flexibility when choosing a position with access to sunlight. Consider seasonal shade from trees and vegetation when selecting the location.
Planning your camera setup
Think about both the camera’s view and the panel’s access to daylight. A suitable camera position may be shaded, so check the mounting arrangement and cable reach before placing the equipment.
