High-Resolution 640×512 Thermal Sensor

The LRF is built directly into the lens system, maintaining the Falcon’s traditional cylindrical shape while providing accurate distance measurement through the thermal monocular.

The laser rangefinder offers a manufacturer-stated measuring range of up to 1000 metres, with accuracy of approximately ±1 metre under specified conditions.

Accurate ranging is particularly useful with thermal imaging because judging distance from a thermal image alone can be difficult, especially at night and across open countryside.

The HIKMICRO Falcon FQ50L 2.0 provides 2.7× base magnification with digital magnification extending the viewing range up to 21.6×.

Once a heat source has been detected, digital zoom can be applied when closer examination is required.

8.8° Field of View

The 50mm objective provides an 8.8° × 7.0° field of view, equivalent to approximately 15.4m × 12.2m at 100 metres.

This provides a useful balance between field scanning and long-range detail, particularly across larger fields and open countryside.

HIKMICRO Shutterless Image System – HSIS

The Falcon 2.0 incorporates HIKMICRO’s Shutterless Image System (HSIS).

Traditional thermal imagers periodically perform shutter-based calibration, which can momentarily interrupt the thermal image.

HSIS is designed to provide a smoother and more continuous viewing experience, particularly when scanning or following moving wildlife.
