Description

Pulsar Oryx LRF XG35 Thermal Imaging Monocular with Laser Rangefinder

The Pulsar Oryx LRF XG35 is a premium 640 thermal imaging monocular with integrated laser rangefinder, designed for demanding wildlife observation, gamekeeping, pest control and professional field use.

Combining a high-resolution 640×480 12µm thermal sensor with a fast 35mm F1.0 objective lens, the Oryx LRF XG35 produces a detailed thermal image while retaining a wide field of view for efficient scanning.

An integrated 1500m laser rangefinder, electronic image stabilisation, dual battery system and rugged magnesium-alloy body make the Oryx particularly well suited to extended periods of observation in challenging outdoor conditions.

High-Resolution 640×480 Thermal Sensor

The Pulsar Oryx LRF XG35 features a 640×480 thermal sensor with a 12µm pixel pitch, providing excellent thermal image detail for locating and observing heat signatures in complete darkness.

Pulsar’s advanced image-processing technology is designed to enhance image clarity and reduce noise, helping reveal greater detail across the thermal scene.

The high-resolution sensor also provides more useful image information as digital magnification is increased compared with lower-resolution thermal devices.

35mm F1.0 Objective Lens

The Oryx combines its 640-resolution sensor with a fast 35mm F1.0 germanium objective lens.

This combination provides a useful balance between detection distance and field of view, making the Oryx particularly effective as a handheld thermal spotter.

A 12.5° horizontal field of view – approximately 21.9m at 100m – makes scanning fields, woodland edges and other countryside environments easier while retaining the ability to examine individual heat sources in detail.

Powerful 1500m Laser Rangefinder

One of the standout features of the Pulsar Oryx LRF XG35 is its integrated laser rangefinder.

The LRF provides manufacturer-stated distance measurements out to 1500 metres, allowing the distance to an observed object to be measured directly through the thermal monocular.

Both single measurement and continuous scanning modes are available.

Accurate range information is particularly useful with thermal imaging because judging distance from a thermal image alone can be difficult, especially at night or across open countryside.

Up to 1800m Thermal Detection Range

The Pulsar Oryx LRF XG35 provides a manufacturer-stated detection range of up to 1800 metres.

This gives the Oryx excellent long-distance detection capability while its 35mm lens and 640×480 sensor maintain a relatively wide field of view for searching and scanning.

Actual detection and identification performance will depend on the size of the object, weather, atmospheric conditions, terrain and surrounding environment.

2.5–20x Magnification

The Oryx provides 2.5x base optical magnification with digital zoom extending magnification up to 20x.

This provides the flexibility to scan at lower magnification before increasing magnification when closer examination of a distant heat source is required.

Electronic Image Stabilisation

The electronic image stabilisation system helps reduce the visible effects of hand movement when observing through the monocular.

This becomes particularly useful at higher digital magnification, where small movements can otherwise make detailed observation more difficult.

The result is a steadier and more comfortable thermal image when observing distant objects.

Dual Battery System – Up to 12 Hours

The Oryx LRF XG35 features a practical dual battery system, combining an internal rechargeable battery with a removable external battery.

Pulsar states operating time of up to approximately 12 hours, depending on conditions and use of features.

The removable battery is hot-swappable, allowing it to be replaced without interrupting operation while the internal battery continues powering the monocular.

Both batteries have individual charge indicators on the display and can be recharged through USB-C.

This makes the Oryx particularly suitable for extended periods in the field.

Rugged Magnesium Alloy Construction

The Oryx has been designed for demanding outdoor use.

Its magnesium-alloy housing combines strength with relatively low weight while also assisting with heat dissipation during extended operation.

The unit carries an IP67 protection rating, providing protection against dust, moisture and temporary immersion in water.

Ambidextrous Design

The symmetrical housing of the Oryx allows comfortable operation with either the left or right hand.

Both the hand strap and belt clip can be positioned on either side of the monocular, allowing the device to be configured to suit the individual user.

This is a particularly useful feature for a handheld thermal monocular that may be used repeatedly throughout extended periods of observation.

Haptic Feedback

The Oryx also incorporates haptic feedback.

When enabled, the monocular provides short vibrations when control buttons are pressed, giving the user tactile confirmation without having to take their attention away from the thermal image.

Stream Vision & Ballistics Connectivity

The Pulsar Oryx LRF XG35 supports connectivity with Pulsar’s digital ecosystem.

It can be paired with compatible Pulsar applications for additional functionality, including supported recording, connectivity and ballistic features.

Bluetooth connectivity also enables integration with the Stream Vision Ballistics app for supported applications.

Ideal for Wildlife, Gamekeeping & Pest Control

The combination of a 640×480 thermal sensor, wide field of view, 1800m detection capability and 1500m laser rangefinder makes the Oryx LRF XG35 particularly versatile.

It is well suited to:

  • Wildlife observation
  • Gamekeeping
  • Pest control
  • Land and estate management
  • Field scanning
  • Night-time observation
  • Locating animals and other heat signatures
  • Professional thermal observation

For pest-control applications, the Oryx can be used as a high-performance handheld thermal spotter for locating, observing and ranging heat sources before using other appropriate equipment.
